Exhibition Laboratory

The Exhibition Laboratory offers fresh art and experimental exhibitions. The artists are students and teachers from the University of the Arts Helsinki´s Academy of Fine Arts. As well as exhibitions, we organise performances, conversations and public lectures. Exhibition Laboratory is intended to inspire new ideas and new exhibition forms, expanding the way we think about art and bringing vitality to its history and practice.

Exhibition Laboratory is situated in the charming Punavuori district in Helsinki.

Project Room

Exhibition Laboratory Project Room hosts projects connected to students’ degrees and study areas in the Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibitions in the Project Room are experimental and innovative, and aim to expand the visitor’s views on art and making art.

Student works are available for purchase, and the proceeds go to the artist in full.

Exhibitions and events

Read more about our upcoming exhibitions here. Past exhibitions and events can be found in the old website.

Other events, such as open lectures and seminars, can be found in the University of the Arts Helsinki event calendar.

The galleries are not available for private events or exhibitions organised by other parties.

Artistic activities as a part of studying

Artistic activity is a medium for teaching in the Uniarts Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts, through which students connect to the society, art scene and audience. Through exhibitions, the students get their first contact to post-graduation working life.
